Justin Bieber the pop star from Canada ran into trouble while on a promotional tour in Europe Thursday. The teen idol knocked himself out backstage at a Paris concert and tried to navigate a huge crowd in Norway where some fans were injured.
The incident on Thursday occurred after Bieber fell into a wall made of glass during a small concert in Paris. The star told a news website that he had felt lightheaded but performed the set and then went backstage and passed out for a few seconds.
He said his doctors advised him he had suffered a slight concussion and was told to relax. Bieber posted on his Twitter that he was well and joked about what had happened by saying, “gotta laugh it off sometimes.”
His concussion followed a brief tour he made of a number of cities in Europe promoting Believe, his upcoming album. While in Norway, he met a huge contingent of fans prior to an Oslo concert he performed for free. The crowd was so large and crushing that dozens of fans, mostly girls, were injured.
Universal Music, the record label for Bieber, said that it regretted that some of Justin’s adoring fans had a bad experience while attending his concert. An executive from the label said that it was fortunate that no one was injured seriously adding that Bieber was going to return at some point to Norway and perform another concert.
The six-song concert Bieber performed at the Opera House in Oslo this past Wednesday will be featured in his upcoming one-hour television special to air on NBC in June.
