Big Ang’s First Online Appearance after Throat Surgery – Mob Wives

Angela “Big Ang” Raiola from VH1’s “Mob Wives” sparked worry from her fans after her sister, Janine Detore, announced Big Ang’s surgery to remove a lemon-sized tumor down her throat. Finally, after weeks of hiatus, Big Ang posted a photo on Instagram dedicated to her fans. Read on for details.

Enstarz reported that Big Ang recently posted a colorful “Thank you” photo for her fans, friends and family for their “love, concern, thoughts, prayers, well wishes and helpful notes.”

“It hasn’t been an easy road, but it’s comforting knowing you don’t have to travel it alone,” Big Ang wrote on the caption.

In the first week of April 2015, Big Ang was brought to a hospital in Staten Island after experiencing pain on her neck. She was later diagnosed with throat cancer. Thankfully, an eight-hour long surgery successfully removed the tumor and managed to save Big Ang’s voice. Aside from the tumor, the surgeons also removed Big Ang’s lymph nodes to be safer.

Following the surgery, Detore said that her sister was instructed to never speak for three days. After the designated number of days, she explained that Big Ang’s voice would be back to normal.

Aside from Detore’s statement, she also posted on Instagram dedicated to Big Ang’s fans, friends and family. She confirmed that her sister has survived the operation and thanked everyone for their prayers. She added another photo of her and Big Ang and wrote that they would always be with each other. Then she ended it by saying that she loves her sister, who is a fighter.

It is not yet certain whether the cancer has spread or not inside Big Ang’s body.
