Previously on “The Big Bang Theory” (Episode 3 “The First Pitch Insufficiency”), the episode opened with Howard (Simon Helberg) practicing for his first pitch on TV! He was asked to throw the first pitch in the Angels game. Unfortunately, our astronaut did not experience baseball. Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) helped him practice, but Howard could not seem to throw that ball well.
During the big event, the gang was there to support Howard. The introduction went well. Then Howard showed the Mars rover. One can tell that the crowd liked it. However, when Howard tried to operate it, it was an epic fail. The rover moved slowly… very slowly.
Sheldon (Jim Parsons) was making up for his train trip, hence having dates two nights in a row with Amy (Mayim Bialik). He then invited Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) to join them next time. During the double date night, Sheldon bragged that among their group, his and Amy’s relationship is the “superior.” Leonard refused to accept this and kept on asking Sheldon.
Sheldon justified why they were a great couple, even citing that they got an 8.2. Leonard wanted to take the test, but Penny refused and stood up to get another drink. Leonard went after her. Penny then revealed to him that she was just scared because they were engaged and having to find out that they are very much different from each other scares her. Leonard admitted that he was too.
