Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory Season 10 already mentioned his admiration to Star Trek actor William Shatner for several times in the whole series. However, it is strange why Shatner never appeared yet when in fact, many actors already interacted with the characters. Get to know the reason behind this!
Famous names in the world of science fiction already appeared as guests in the series such as Wil Wheaton, George Takei, Levar Burton, Brent Spiner, Leonard Nimoy and James Earl Jones.
Shatner played James T. Kirk in Star Trek. According to an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, he admitted that the producers already offered him to appear in the series. However, he did not like the script.
The actor explained that his previous move did not necessarily mean he would never appear in the series. He said he would say yes when the producers would give him a much better script.
“I’ve had several conversations with the creators, and what they wanted me to do, didn’t seem to be exactly right, so I said ‘find something that’s better,’” Shatner told Digital Spy.
Shatner started to think the producers were offended because that was the last time they asked him a role. He said he only wanted “more assurance” because the producers wanted him to act “a little obliquely.”
The late Leonard Nimoy managed to be a guest in the series. He served as the voice of a Spock action figure during Sheldon’s dream. He was a close friend of Shatner.
Meanwhile, Shatner would appear at a huge convention called Destination Star Trek Europe. He would also bring his show titled Shatner’s World for the first time in the UK.
Anything is still possible as long as The Big Bang Theory Season 10 continues.
The Big Bang Theory Season 10 airs every Monday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
