On Friday, a judge in Massachusetts refused to reject a defamation suit that was brought against entertainer Bill Cosby by three ladies who claim that he had sexually assaulted them.
It was the same day when Cosby was supposed to be deposed in a civil suit in Los Angeles that was filed against him by another victim. Early this year Linda Joy Traitz, Tamara Green and Therese Serignese had filed a suit against Bill accusing him of defaming them through his representatives in interviews that actually challenged their reputations and made them go through disgrace, aversion, ridicule and contempt.
District Judge Mark Mastroianni refused to dismiss the case and held that Bill Cosby should be held responsible for any comments made by his representatives.
The defamation suit was filed by Joe Cammarata, on behalf of Traitz, Green, and Serignese, who were absolutely thrilled with the decision made by the judge.
Joe added that his clients were pleased that they will soon have a chance to attend the court and restore their reputation and good name. Cammarata also told People Magazine that the judge had refused all arguments raised by Cosby, so that the case could be prevented from going forward.
They may also get in touch with all those women who have similar stories about Cosby to share ,so that their testimony can be preserved as a part of the record. Joe also said that there will be a fact finding stage so that attempts can be further made for developing the case.
Attorney Monique Pressley, who is the chief spokeswoman for Bill Cosby at present, refused to respond when she was requested to give her comments on the decision made by the judge.
To date, over 50 women have accused Bill Cosby of either sexually assaulting or drugging them. Judy Huth is one of them, who had filed a civil suit against the entertainer, stating that in 1974, Cosby assaulted her sexually at the Playboy Mansion when she was just 15.
