The Space channel has just announced a Season 2 order of “Bitten,” which is also the network’s most-watched original series ever. Following its action-packed Season 1 finale, there will be 10 more additional episodes that will all run for an hour each episode next season. The production of the show is expected to start this summer and will shoot in Toronto.

“Bitten” debuted last January 11, 2014 and according to Huffington Post, it has gained a huge number of weekly audience of 347,000 every Saturday at 9:00 p.m.  With such solid ratings, Space ranked it as its #1 original series and the #1 program on Space this broadcast year. Every week, the show has reached more than a million viewers. There’s really no wonder why “Bitten” got renewed for Season 2 and we’ll not be surprised if the network orders for more seasons.

The show stars Laura Vandervoort (“Smallville”) who plays the role of Elena, the world’s ONLY female werewolf. Other stars include Greg Bryk (“Rookie Blue”) who plays the Alpha pack leader Jeremy Danvers and Greyston Holt (“Alcatraz”) as Clayton Danvers.

According to an interview with Huffington Post, Phil King, President of CTV Sports and Entertainment Programming, said that “Bitten” has been such an exciting addition to Space.

“When we signed on for season 1 we knew it was a unique series, and when fans and critics agreed with us, we knew we had a hit. Here’s to another season of making great television with our terrific production partners,” said King in the Huffington Post report.
