But before that, here’s a quick recap of what happened in its last airing.

In “Martin Luther Skiing Day” (air date: Jan. 14, 2015), Dre (Anthony Anderson) thought that it would be the best opportunity to teach his son Junior (Marcus Scribner) some lessons on race and tolerance at their family’s annual skiing trip on Martin Luther King (MLK) holiday. He wanted the young boy to learn the significance of MLK in their heritage. He used every opportunity to show Junior just how black people must stand up for themselves and their rights. Only, Dre didn’t encounter any untoward incident to properly demonstrate to Junior just what he meant when black people are mistreated. Worse, he took it too far when he staged a protest at the ski lodge. His protest dampening down what’s supposed to be a nice and fun holiday with family.

Meanwhile, Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) was with the other kids and they were doing better during the ski trip. In fact, they sang songs in the car and even scheduled for spa treatment at the lodge, all the while Junior and his friend were being drilled by Dre in the other car about civil rights and Martin Luther King trivia.

In the end, Junior experienced just what his father was trying to point out when he was discriminated at the lodge. However, it was not for being black, but for using a different gear at the slopes. Since he planned on using a snowboard, he wasn’t allowed to sit in front of the bus, prompting Junior to deliver his own “I Have a Dream” speech. He made his father proud.

So, Dre makes a promise to himself that he’s going to be much more patient in order to keep the peace with his wife. How long do you think this will last?

Meanwhile, Diane thinks no one in her class is going to give her a card for this special day of the hearts. Because she sees herself as very critical, she assumes no one likes her.
