Black-ish” Season 1 Episode 5 “Crime and Punishment” will air on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at 9:30 p.m. on ABC. How do you feel about spanking children when they disobey? This will be the point of discussion and concern in this week’s episode of “Black-ish.” Read on for the details below. But first, let’s take a step back and recap what happened last week.

Previously, in the episode “Crazy Mom” (air date: Oct. 15, 2014), Dre (Anthony Anderson) assumed Rainbow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) task as mom for one week. He thought he did a better job in the beginning as he was getting praises for this at the kids’ school. However, the praises were short-lived because a new and more involved father took the center stage immediately. Dre was obsessed about claiming back his glory as the cool dad, but it was hard to keep up. Bow accused him of being a praise junkie, which was not far from the truth.

Meanwhile, Dre noticed that despite his taking over the kitchen and cleaning up after work done there, Bow would swoop back in to do everything he just did. Bow defended that she had a system, while Dre accused her of being a control freak. It was also true.

In the end, however, the two settled down and got things back in order, as Pops (Laurence Fishburne) advised that Bow was the mom and will always be the mom, a job that Dre cannot ever top.
