A lot of responsibilities are riding on the “King of Wakanda,” apart from the much awaited debut in “Captain America: Civil War,” the superhero will have his own problems and escapades to deal with in his solo movie that will be releasing in 2018. Even though Chadwick Boseman has been confirmed to play the role of Black Panther for a while now, not much is known about the rest of the cast. Amongst them is perhaps one of the most important components in the film, the director.
According to Vine Report, rumors had been there for a while that Ava DuVernay was being considered to direct the movie for Marvel. However, she recently addressed these rumors saying that she has decided not to come aboard as the director. She was at the 2015 BlogHer Conference in New York when she mentioned that she had to figure it out whether these were the people who she wanted to commit to, as this project could take at least three years and that meant she would be unable to do anything else. Anything that she might want to do or thinks is important to her. She added that it is always important for her to be true to herself otherwise she would end up making a movie, which Marvel had not envisioned.
Apart from the movie, Marvel has also announced that they will be launching the new “Black Panther” comics, which will be a part of their latest publishing campaign. This campaign will be called “All-New Marvel Now!” which will have new covers ranging from “Spider-Man” to “Squirrel Girl.” Marvel Comics have released a tentative date for the release of their new series, which will be in November this year. That being said, fans can expect something new and exciting coming their way from the Marvel camp.
