“The Blacklist” Season 3 Episode 5 “No 50: Arioch Cain” aired last Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. In this episode, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) enlisted the help of the task force in order to discover who had put a bounty on Elizabeth “Liz” Keen’s (Megan Boone) head, as they tried to out manoeuvre bounty hunters and Mr. Solomon (Edi Gathegi). Meanwhile, Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) got a little bit closer to the Russian mob and FBI Special Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) was a force to agree to an alliance with one of the task force’s most formidable enemies.  Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) taking pictures, under the instruction of Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader), of a dead Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) in a plane hangar. This was then sent to the press, and news outlets then began to announce the death of the former FBI Agent, much to the happiness of a young teenaged girl named Blair (Olivia Boreham-Wing).

Twelve hours earlier, Red told Liz that they were going to split up. Liz would be moving location again as a faceless and nameless assassin named Wendigo (Andy Dylan) is currently after her.

While Liz waited for her transport, Red ambushed FBI Special Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) and asked for his help, which he agreed to, and instructed Computer Specialist Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arision) and Mossad Agent Samar Navabi (Mozhan Marno) to stay on the case while he faced the Presidential Committee headed by National Security Advisor Laurel Hitchens (Christine Lahti).

There, he told the committee that he wanted to bring Liz in so that she could get a fair trial by jury, which, he believed would find her to be innocent.

However, when the Director (Peter Straithairn) gave his own testimony, he maintained that the Fulcrum contained a bunch of lies and that there was no such thing as the Cabal.

Meanwhile, Wendigo killed two of Liz’s bodyguards and barely missed her. However, she managed to escape, and thanks to Aram, Red and Liz paid a visit to Wendigo’s gunsmith. He gave them the address of Wendigo’s apartment.

There, they gave chase to him, which resulted in Red throwing him off the roof of the building he had jumped across to, where he told them that there were others who wanted to kill Liz. After taking a look at Wendigo’s laptop, they discovered that Liz had been placed on a website which allowed people to nominate who should be killed, and the reward money was crowdfunded by those who want to see those people killed.

Thanks to the gunsmith, they were able to give Aram they name of the site’s creator, from whom Aram deduced that they could only take down her name if the person who nominated Liz. A person called Arioch Cain, took the name down personally after having verified that she was dead.

They then met up with Mr. Vargas (Paul Reubens) who claimed that Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq) was dead, and called Mr. Solomon (Edi Gathegi) instead of Red’s man, just before driving to Red’s private hangar, where they were surrounded by Mr. Solomon’s men.

However, just as he was about to skin Liz alive in front of Red, a severely wounded Dembe came in, with guns drawn, which distracted Solomon’s men enough for Red to retaliate.

Afterwards, Red called Mr. Kaplan to help them take fake pictures of Liz being dead on the hangar floor, which would be sent to the press.

Once that happened, the site creator would confirm it, and then Arioch Cain would type in a passkey so that the bounty hunter who made the kill would get the money. Once that happened, a routing address would appear, and they would be able to track it down to Arioch Cain’s address.

However, it turned out that Arioch Cain was Blair. She believed that Liz had killed her mother, who had been in the bombing which Liz had been blamed for.

After telling her the truth, Blair took her name down.

Afterwards, Ressler told Samar and Aram that they did a good job, and told them that they had to bring her in soon so that she would, at least, be safe in their custody.

However, things got more complicated after Ressler was told to share all information with the Director.

Meanwhile, Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) managed to get a step closer to the Russians by killing a Russian enforcer who was threatening Asher Sutton (Peter Vack). However, he promised Asher and his fiancé, Gwen Hollander (Conor Leslie), that he would take care of everything.

He also left Liz a voice message, asking for a second chance.

Do you think that Ressler will deliberately hold information from the Director? What do you think is next for Liz? Do you think Tom will find Karakurt soon?  Let us know what you think in the comments below!
