The Blacklist” Season 2 Episode 15 “No. 75: The Major ” aired last Thursday, Mar. 12, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. In this episode, FBI Special Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) and Assistant Deputy Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) were placed on the hot seat as Judge Richard Denner (John Finn) interrogated both of them personally in order to determine whether Liz should stand before a Grand Jury for the murder of Eugene Ames. While this happened, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) enlisted the Task Force’s help in order to locate “The Major”, the only one who knew about Tom Keen’s (Ryan Eggold) past, and knew where he was in order to help prevent Liz from being charged with murder. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began in New York City, in 1944, where a delinquent named Jacob Phelps, who later on became Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold), was first picked up by the man he currently worked for- “The Major” or Bill McReady (Lance Henriksen).

Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General Wright (Adriene Lenox) tried to squash a subpoena which required  Assistant Deputy Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) to go in front of a Grand Jury to testify against FBI Special Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone), who was being charged with the murder of Eugene Ames, but failed, even if she argued that national security would be compromised, since it would be if the Task Force was exposed. Instead, the judge, Judge Richard Denner (John Finn) decided to hear Liz’s and Cooper’s testimonies in his chambers, and that he would decide whether it would endanger national security.

In order to help Liz, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) enlisted the help of the Task Force to abduct Deputy Minister Mahmoud, the Malaysian Minister to the United Nations as he knew how to locate and contact a blacklister named “The Major”, or Bill McReady (Lance Henriksen), who knew the whereabouts of Tom Keen, who was the one who had murdered Ames. Also, he informed them that The Major handpicked specific individuals with sociopathic tendencies at a young age in order to groom them to become the best deep cover operatives that world has ever known.

Meanwhile, Detective Martin Wilcox, as Samuel Alecko had accidentally mentioned something that had been missed earlier, raced against time to recover the last bit of evidence that would convince the judge that Liz was guilty of Ames’ murder.

At Dresden, Germany, Tom, masquerading as the Danish Kristoff Mannheim, killed a gun merchant that supplied guns to a particular man (David Patrick Kelley), in order to ingratiate himself by providing him with a reliable source of guns.

At the judge’s chambers, Liz recounted everything that had happened to her since the day she started to work for the Task Force, including her personal relationship with Red, and the fact that he was after a blackmail file called “The Fulcrum”, which could be acquired through her. She also told him that she found and cut Alecko a deal as he had been the informant of her late colleague, Mira Malik (Parminder Nagra), and informed him that she had killed Tom, whose real name was Jacob Phelps, out of self-defense.

Afterwards, Cooper confirmed that she had been on the boat, which Ames had encountered, due to official business relating to the Task Force.

Meanwhile, FBI Special Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) and Mossad Agent Samir Navabi (Mozhan Marno) succeeded in abducting Mahmoud, who was a deep cover operative trained by The Major. He in turn helped Red meet up with The Major, who as it turned out, had betrayed Red. It turned out that Red had hired Tom from The Major, but after Berlin  paid The Major a higher price for Red, he had told Tom to betray Red. After he talked to The Major, Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) encouraged Red to tell Liz the entire truth about Tom.

Back at the judge’s chambers, Judge Denner was about to leave when Wilcox and his boss showed him that they had found bullets and casings on the boat with Alecko’s blood on it, that matched the ballistics on Liz’s pistol, which meant that Liz had indeed been on the boat when Ames was killed.

And that was all for the recap of “The Blacklist” Season 2 Episode 15 “No. 75: The Major”. For more news, updates and recaps on “The Blacklist” and other television shows, keep on following Movie News Guide (MNG).
