“The Blacklist” Season 1 Finale Episode 22 “Berlin (No. 8) Conclusion” Recap
According to Entertainment Weekly, the focal point of “The Blacklist” Season 1 Finale Episode 22 “Berlin (No. 8) Conclusion” is their hunt for a Russian expat named Berlin (Peter Stormare). His daughter was sent to prison when she fell in love with a dissident. Berlin was sent to a Siberian prison after trying to arrange his daughter’s escape from prison. Berlin, helpless and all, prayed for her daughter’s safety yet he gets packages of body parts and personal belongings from his daughter that was sent by his enemies. He escaped from prison and hunted down the person responsible for his daughter’s death. For some reason, Reddington (James Spader) is at the top of his list.
The plane that was carrying Berlin and other convicts crashed, and some of the captured prisoners were interviewed. They claim that they witnessed Berlin cutting off the guard’s hand that he was handcuffed to. The scene from the hospital were the guard was holding his bloody wrist or what’s left of it, while in excruciating pain, was gruesome!
Meanwhile, Red tried to escape after being transported by the FBI. He called Liz telling her that “the entire Blacklist team is being targeted.” Liz teams up with Red. Sadly, Meera Malik (Parminder Nagra) died in this story when a man slitted her throat while they were out in the field with Liz.
According to The Wall Street Journal blog, Red goes on a killing spree, targeting Kinsky’s men and shooting Kinsky in the hand for not talking. As he was about to shoot Kinsky in the kneecap, he reveals to Red that he resents him due to an incident that happened in Beirut in 2010.
Tom enters with Liz held hostage, there was struggle and Liz ended up shooting Tom but as he was about to die, he whispered something to her ear and said “I’m sorry” to Liz. It is quite intriguing don’t you think? They were still baffled on who Berlin is, but Red and Liz won’t stop until they find Berlin that’s for sure!
The last intriguing scene from “The Blacklist” Season 1 Finale Episode 22 “Berlin (No. 8) Conclusion” is a conversation between Red and Liz. Liz told Red what Tom whispered to her before he died and that is his father is still alive. But, Red insisted that his father died in a fire. Back home, when he is getting ready for bed, Red looks at a photo of a young girl (a photo that he took from Stewmaker’s death photo album in the previous episodes). Red exposes an old scar on his back after taking his shirt off. The scar seemed to be a an old wound from a fire.
