The final moments of the second season finale of “The Blacklist” unloaded one shocking revelation after the other, including an explosive finale, with a daring move from FBI Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone) that no one saw coming. Now, as the days grow shorter to a very different season of the show, a new promotional video for the third season has been released, and the show creator Jon Bokenkamp, recently explained what exactly Liz will be struggling with when fans and viewers of the series see her again on October 1, 2015. WARNING: This article contains spoilers regarding the upcoming third season of the series, and in particular, there will be some spoilers regarding Liz as a character. Read on to learn more about what will be happening to Liz in the upcoming third season of “The Blacklist.”

The second season finale of “The Blacklist” Season 2 Episode 22 “No. 11: Tom Connolly” left fans reeling as FBI Agent Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone), in a surprise move, shot the sinister Attorney General, Tom Connolly (Reed Birney), to death, moments before a banquet that he had just prepared.

Of course, she did all of this while being on the run from the FBI, who had been interrogating her due to the fact that she was, in reality, Masha Rostova, the daughter of Katarina Rostova, a legendary KGB Agent.

Also, her shooting Connolly triggered the blocked memories from her past, which she had tried to forget, as she as a little girl shot her father to death in order to protect her mother who had been suffering from domestic abuse.

Now, this event, coupled with her killing Connolly, is the catalyst, according to show creator Jon Bokenkamp, who recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly, to talk a little bit about what Liz will be going through in the third season.

According to Bokenkamp, these shootings will cause Liz to realize that she does have a certain “criminal instinct,” which, for the past two seasons, she had been trying to go against.

However, because of the unexpected turn of events in the season finale, it is these particular instincts that will have to kick in so that she could survive while being on the run with Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He then went on to mention that Liz will not only be relying on this new set of skills, but will also be relying on the fact that she does have connections to mother Russia, thanks to her mother.

Recently, a new promotional video has been released on Spoiler TV, which also tease the changes that are about to happen in the third season.

The video shows Liz and Red on the run, and hiding inside a truck, dressed up as police officers, with FBI Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), shouting at them to surrender to him and the Task Force.

The video also debuted Liz’s new hair, as she ended up coloring it blonde as part of one of her disguises.
