It’s been years since gossips about Blake Shelton Miranda Lambert’s shaky marriage made headlines in different celebrity magazines, and finally the couple’s representative step up to end the news by confirming that indeed, Shelton and Lambert’s married life have come to an end.
The news of their confirmed divorce was exclusively stated to The Associated Press.
According to the now ex-couple, it was not the future they envisioned. Adding that it is difficult for them to see each other move forward separately. “We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
The two superstars met 10 years ago at the CMT concert taping where they performed together. Shelton proposed to Lambert in 2010 and they got married the following year, May 14,2011 in Texas.
Since their marriage, the two multiplatinum stars’ career hit its peak. The marriage made them the country music’s highest-profile couple, Shelton became a judge on NBC’s singing competition “The Voice” in 2011, and Lambert’s”Platinum” album won a Grammy award for best country album. The former couple was also named the male and female vocalists of the year by the Country Music Association.
Though there’s no sign of any marriage trouble, the former couple were plagued with rumors about their shaky relationship throughout the marriage. Shelton even made a comment on his Twitter with one of the news in tabloid saying: “I just read in a tabloid that our marriage is falling apart. Oh no! Can’t wait to read if we make it or not.”
On the other hand, Blake Shelton, 39 and Miranda Lambert 31 did not say when the divorce proceedings took place.
