Blake Shelton Sues In Touch Weekly: He is Not Heading Toward Rehab!

Blake Shelton is tired of people making stories about him. He had already tweeted that he was getting impatient with the tabloids making up stories about his divorce, and now that In Touch Weekly has made up a story about him heading toward the rehab, “The Voice” judge can no longer contain his fury about gossip mongers. He has reportedly slapped a One Million Dollar lawsuit on In Touch Weekly. We wonder how the tabloid is going to make up for the loss.

Shelton was already angry over news stories about his divorce with Miranda Lambert. There have been many many stories about him flirting with Gwen Stefani or some celebrity or the other.

Shelton himself had joked about it via twitter. But humor and sarcasm gave way to anger and he decided to do something about it. He first asked the tabloid, In Touch Weekly, to remove the offending article about him heading toward a rehab. But the tabloid ignored his message. Annoyed that he was ignored this way, he took to the courts to settle the matter. Apparently, if Shelton wins the lawsuit, he will get one million dollars from In Touch Weekly.

This puts the whole tabloid reporting business into the spotlight once again. Most reporters do add a slant to their news when they are writing a news story. But when does a slant become an angle too oblique? In Touch Weekly seems to have burned its fingers with the “angle” they chose to use to write about. We just hope that the magazine recovers from the aftermath of the disastrous conjecture.

Billboard reported the news first.
