According to the promotional video on Spoiler TV, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is in a tight spot after learning that his son, Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), was nominated for a Medal of Valor. He then brought this up with his father, former Police Commissioner Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) tells him that Danny receiving a Medal of Valor might be seen as favoritism, and Frank reminds him that he has never received a medal of his own when Henry was the Police Commissioner. However, on the other hand, Deputy Commissioner for Public Information Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) asks him to reconsider by pretending as if Danny’s last name wasn’t Reagan. At the end of the clip, Frank tells Danny that he is proud of him. However, Danny tells his father that he knew that.
Spoiler TV also posted two clips which provided a glimpse as to what will be happening in the upcoming episode.
In the first clip, Danny, while cooking some eggs for his sons’ breakfast, notices that a girl named Charlotte has texted his oldest, Jack Reagan (Tony Terraciano), 12 times. He then realizes that Jack liked Charlotte, and Jack admits to his father that he did want to ask Charlotte out on a date, but he is afraid to be rejected as he felt that there was no one else like Charlotte.
Afterwards, Danny informs his wife, Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson) about Jack liking Charlotte, only to find out that she knew about it already, as Linda knows that Jack had been liking Charlotte for a long time. Because of this, Danny complains about the fact that he is always the last one to know things and tells Linda that he has to go to work early. This means that Linda had to bring the boys to school, and they wouldn’t be able to look at bathroom tiles together.
In the second sneak peek, Frank is met by his aide, Detective Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawk), who informs him that Deputy Commissioner for Public Information Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) and Special Assistant to the Police Commissioner Sergeant Sid Gormley (Robert Clohessy) are already in his office. Moore then notes that Frank had not comment regarding the Mayor’s hiring freeze for the police force, and Gormley shows him the list of candidates nominated for that year’s Medal of Valor. He asks why he hadn’t been given a heads up about the fact that Danny was one of the candidates. He feels that it was strange that he was nominated because of his last name and because he and his superior officer, Lieutenant Dee Ann Carver (LaTanya Richardson-Jackson), didn’t really start out on the right footing with each other. Moore tries to distract him by asking him about heightened security for the St. Patrick’s Parade. He then tells Moore that he could spare three meter maids and a bull horn and goes back to studying the list.
