Bones” Season 10 Episode 11 “The Psychic in the Soup” aired on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. on FOX. In this episode, the Jeffersonian team, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and FBI Special Agent Aubrey James (John Boyd) teamed up to figure out how a murdered psychic ended up inside a tree trunk of a rotting tree. Meanwhile, because of the case, and because it was Dr. Lance Sweets’ (John Francis Daly) birthday, the team was helped out by psychic Avalon Harmonia (Cyndi Lauper). Read on to learn more about this episode.

Before FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) went to the FBI office, after humoring his daughter’s imaginary friend, he remembered that it was Dr. Lance Sweets’ (John Francis Daly) birthday.

Meanwhile, FBI Special Agent James Aubrey (John Boyd) got to know from the park ranger in their custody that he had discovered the remains in the tree trunk, which he had to cut down, and had been sent over to the Jeffersonian for Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her team to look at. However, before looking for the remains inside the tree, Bones reminded them that it was Sweets’ birthday.

Based on what they found, they discovered that the victim was a beautiful African American woman in her thirties, and that she had been dead for a month.

Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin) then, even without the completed skull reconstruction, discovered that the victim was a woman named Justine Simmons. While there, she overheard Dr. Fuentes ( Ignacio Serricchio) , their intern, talking about some medications. He then told her that he was recovering from a cold.

At the FBI office, Aubrey spoke to Justine’s father, a pastor, who told him that he never approved of Justine’s work, as she had been a psychic.

Back at the laboratory, just as Angela wondered to her husband, Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne), whether they should ask for help from Avalon Harmonia (Cyndi Lauper), who was a psychic, she called, much to the disbelief of Hodgins.

Avalon then showed up at the apartment of Justine, where Bones and Booth were present. They were greeted by the landlady, who had been repairing floors that day, and discovered blood on a cracked laptop, and lots of cash in a drawer. Avalon then kept on wandering towards the pillows, which Booth took away from her, and told them that Mr. Taylor, a psychic and a fraud, whom Justine had worked with, had been there. The landlady then told them that the two had argued recently, as Justine had stopped working with him some time back. Afterwards, Avalon correctly guessed that it was someone’s birthday that day.

After bringing Mr. Taylor in, Aubrey discovered that he was a fraud, and that Justine blackmailed her clients. They also discovered that the blood on the laptop belonged to Justine, and that she had died or had been assaulted at around 1:00 PM on the twelfth of that month.

Afterwards, they questioned Alana Jackson (Gabrielle Dennis), who had given Justine the money. It turned out that they had been having an affair, but Justine had broken up with her.

Back at the laboratory, Avalon tried to give them a message from Sweets, but Hodgins wouldn’t hear of it. Meanwhile, Aubrey brought in Justine’s father for questioning, and took his cane, after Fuentes discovered that Justine had been hit by a cylindrical object. However, the cane didn’t match it. Cam then discovered that Fuentes had been trying to smuggle prescription drugs into Cuba as they had none, and that the money was to bribe customs officials. He then decided to resign, before Cam could do anything. However, after Bones learned about, she told Cam that she would do the same thing, and that she needed him back.

At the laboratory, before Hodgins could say anything to Angela, she gave him research, and told him that as scientists, they shouldn’t dismiss the fact that there could be spirits. He then apologized to Avalon, and told them that he had discovered bug residue and floor residue, which led them to the landlady, who had been Justine’s lover, and upon hearing her tell someone over the phone that she loved that person more, she had gotten mad and threw a mallet at her. However, she was still alive when she had left.

Fuentes then came back for the medicines, but couldn’t find them as Bones had smuggled them to Cuba. Because of this, he was hired back. He then told them that there was a smaller fracture, caused by a smaller weapon, in the area where she had been hit with the mallet, and that caused her to bleed out and die.

They then brought in Alana after discovering that the wound had bicycle grease that matched Alana’s daughter’s bike. It turned out that she had pushed Justine after she broke up with her, and she fell on the bike, which killed her.

Back at home, Bones and Booth received a present from Sweets, thanks to Avalon, whom Sweets had told to look for a thumb drive in his car, which was being sold that day. It turned out that he had modified his book on Bones and Booth into a love story, and that was supposed to be  his present to them on his birthday.
