Bones” Season 10 Episode 12 “The Teacher in the Books” aired on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. on FOX. In this episode, the FBI and the Jeffersonian team investigated the murder of a wealthy teacher who taught in a public school, while Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) learned how to tweet in order to promote her books. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with two scrappers finding a dead body in an abandoned bookstore.

The next morning, Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) was surprised to learn that her publisher wanted her to have a Twitter account in order to connect to her fans and to promote her books, which her husband, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), thought was a good thing.

They were then called to a crime scene in an abandoned bookstore where the body in the first scene was found. There, Bones was shocked to find her books in the clearance section of the abandoned bookstore, which prompted her to get a Twitter account, where she began to post long articles about bones.

Back at the Jeffersonian, thanks to Angela Montenegro’s (Michaela Conlin) software, they identified the victim as Mia Ferraro, a trust fund baby turned public school teacher, who had been reported missing by her boyfriend, musician Hunter Ellis (Nathaniel Buzolic), who hadn’t seen her that weekend as he had a coffee house tour then.

Booth and FBI Special Agent James Aubrey (John Boyd) then went over to the school, where they were greeted by the school’s principal, and Shane Gentry (Brandan Robins), a fellow United Teaching Fellows teacher alongside Mia. They both knew Caroline Julian (Patricia Belcher), who was taking the case personally as she was a member of the board of the United Teaching Fellows.

They then talked to Marcellus Miller (Allius Barnes), the most promising student in Mia’s class in front of his brother and legal guardian, Keith Miller (Allen Maldonado). However, he told them that he had no reason to be upset with Mia as she was the only teacher who believed in him.

Back at the Jeffersonian, Dr. Camille “Cam” Sayoran (Tamara Taylor) discovered from Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) that Mia had been covered in cafeteria food residue, and that she had been placed in a standing position for quite some time, which corresponded to Bones’ and Jessica Warren’s (Laura Spencer) findings that she had been shoved in a locker, and had been left in an upright position.

Afterwards, Bones asked Jessica to help her have more followers on her twitter account, and learned how to take selfies and label her tweets with hashtags.

After bringing an FBI K-9 to the school, they found the locker she had been shoved in, and brought in the janitor, Steven Brady (Josh Latzor), whose custodial cart had been used to transport Mia’s body. However, a lot of people had access to the cart, and the dog had barked at him because he and Mia used to confiscate drugs from the students in the parking lot, and made them do extra chores instead of putting them in the system.

Afterwards, they discovered that Mia had been strangled to death, and Aubrey discovered that Mia had been upset about something as she had tweeted so the very day that she had disappeared. They then brought in Hunter for questioning after Angela discovered that he had been using a dating site to cheat on Mia.

Back at the laboratory, thanks to a remodeled fracture, Angela and Jessica determined that the cut she had sustained one month ago on her hand was due to a pocket folding knife, much like Keith’s. Angela also told Jessica to let Bones tweet on her own so that she wouldn’t get too competitive, as that was her personality.

However, upon interviewing the brothers, separately, the learned that Mia had confronted Keith after discovering that Marcellus had been skipping school to work as he didn’t want his brother to keep on working just to put him through school. She then had grabbed his knife by the blade, and threatened that she would have him go to prison if Marcellus skipped school again, as she blamed him. However, Keith had an alibi as he had been stealing food for Marcellus at Mia’s time of death.

Back at the laboratory, they discovered that someone had broken Mia’s knees badly in order to position her in a seated position, which meant that whoever had killed her had placed her like that as that person’s car most probably didn’t have a trunk, just like Shane’s eco- friendly smart car.

It turned out that Mia had caught him changing answers on the standardized tests that were conducted the Friday beforehand as he wanted to look good in front of the Department of Education, where he was going to have an interview. She had grabbed the test papers, and started to scream, which caused him to strangle her to death.

Afterwards, Caroline took an interest in Keith and Marcellus, and agreed to tutor Marcellus and told Keith that he was going to take the GEDs, and fed them.
