The continuation of the “Bourne” franchise with Matt Damon starring is a definite go for Universal but its release date has been shifted for a latter one. Read on for the full details of this scoop.
Last year, Universal went out of its way to revive the success of film franchise after the dramatic, not – so impressive performance that “The Bourne Legacy” turned out to be. The production company was conflicted whether they would let go of Jeremy Renner or pursue Damon. After a series of conferences and agreements, they’ve decided to keep both actors with their directors and key them all into a shared Bourne cinematic universe. While Renner and director Justin Lin’s version is at bay, Damon and Paul Greengrass’ Jason Bourne is ready to take its flight after a few adjustments on the release date.
By Cinema Blend, the Jason Bourne version of the franchise is the film that the studio is fixed on releasing on 2016 while Aaron Cross is at a holding point – but there has been a slight change on the film’s release date. Instead of it reaching the theaters on July 15, 2016, it’s now pushed back to July 29, 2016, two weeks after the original release date. Because of this, the film will no longer be going head to head with the third installment of the “Star Trek” franchise seeing that it will be opening on July 8, 2016. The “Untitled Bourne 4” film actually landed the original release date for the “Planet of the Apes” sequel film after moving to a July 2017 release.
Additionally, Screen Rant highlighted that the screenplay of the fourth Jason Bourne film will be collaborated by director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon, themselves along with Christopher Rouse.
The shift in the release date doesn’t entirely mean that the studio is experiencing some issues in the production of the movie. They are actually doing this to fully polish everything and to see to it that the film will outdo the high, prolific standard it set.
That ends our update on the change of release date for the fourth Bourne Film. Continue to visit Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates in the entertainment world.
