IB Times reports that past coach Tom Jones used to do it the most, stating habitually that he worked with big names, such as Ray Charles and Elvis Presley during his prime. Of course, show newbie Boy George had to one up Jones.
“I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson,” George said. One of the other coaches, Paloma Faith quickly replied with, “Well, OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”
As Faith mentioned the “Purple Rain” hit maker, George casually mentioned, “Oh darling, I’ve slept with him.”
According to Billboard, “He [George] went on to say that he had Prince posters on his wall as a kid. He was never being serious.” a spokesperson for the TV show said.
The representative for “The Voice” also clarified to address a hearsay and said, the “whole drama of the show coming to a halt didn’t happen at all,” as rumors had implied. (via NME)
George is 54 years old and Prince is 57.
Prince’s camp is yet to give their comments regarding the issue.
Boy George and Paloma Faith took the place of coaches Rita Ora and Tom Jones for the 2015 installment of the BBC show, while Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs and Will.i.am resumed their positions in the panel, with the fresh additions.
