“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, is set to release another movie together after 10 years. The movie revolves around a struggling married couple, a writer named John Cassavetes (Pitt) and his wife, a former dancer named Gena Rowlands (Jolie).
According to Los Angeles Times, since the couple will once again reunite on the big screen, Pitt and Jolie decided to have a chat with the “The Today Show” anchor, Rom Brokaw.
In their interview last Monday, November 2, Brangelina opened up about their marriage, relationship and how they got through the consequences of Jolie’s double mastectomy.
Despite from the fact that Brangelina is currently facing multiple issues surrounding their marriage, Jolie clearly told Brokaw that she knew the audience want to know whether the story has any significance to her relationship with her husband or not. The actress simply said that her marriage status is far from the movie itself.
“…we’re actually very very stable and these aren’t our issues,” Jolie said.
Pitt, meanwhile, expressed his gratefulness to work with his wife, which according to him was very surprising. The actor sincerely told Brokaw that he enjoys his wife’s direction—“She’s decisive, incredibly intuitive, knife-sharp, and might I say, sexy at her post. I trust her with my life.”
Moreover, Mail Online reported that the interview also touched down the biggest issue they faced this year. Brokaw opened the topic about Jolie’s brave decision on having surgeries when she found out that there is a possibility that she could suffer from cancer—an illness that killed her mother at 56.
Pitt, in response to his wife’s choice, said that there was “no vanity” in Jolie’s move, in fact he considered it as a “mature” decision.
“…she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together,” Pitt said.
Angelina Jolie, on the other hand, said that she always knew that her husband was there for him—“this wasn’t something where I was gonna feel less of a woman because my husband wasn’t gonna let that happen.”
