Brad Pitt attended the “Unbroken” event in place of his wife, Angelina Jolie, who directed the film, but had to skip the event because she is currently inflicted with chickenpox. Isn’t that such a romantic gesture from Brad? Read on for more details.
Brad Pitt has just won the most supportive husband award as he stepped in for Angelina Jolie in the Unbroken Roger Deakins Image Exhibition presented by Universal Studios at the AMC Century City Theaters in Los Angeles last Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014. Pitt attended the event and mingled with guests while taking photos with actors and stars such as Deakins, a famous cinematographer, and Josh Brolin.
Jolie recently announced through a video posted on the Facebook page of Universal Pictures Entertainment that she will be withdrawing from events scheduled to promote the movie because of a mild bout of chickenpox and that the actress is “heartbroken” to miss the premiere.
“I just want to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the ‘Unbroken’ events in the next few days, I found out last night I have chickenpox. I will be home, itching and missing everyone,” explained the actress in the video. “I can’t believe it cause this film means so much to me… I just can’t believe it, but such is life. There it is,” she adds.
Jolie and Pitt held their secret wedding in France on Aug. 23, 2014, for which the couple’s spokesperson described, “It was very much a family affair.” They were married after two years of engagement and nine years of being together as a couple. They share six kids: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie, in an interview with Elle magazine for its June 2014 issue, described her relationship with Brad as “a deep love that comes from having been through quite a lot together.”
“I never thought I’d have children. I never thought I’d be in love, I never thought I’d meet the right person,” she adds.
Jolie will also skip from the Hollywood premiere of “Unbroken” tonight, Dec. 16, 2014, but Brad is expected to step in once again for his wife.
