“Bridget Jones’ Baby,” the third instalment to “Bridget Jones” franchise is set to release on Sept. 16, 2016. “Bridget Jones’ Baby” is the sequel to popular films “Bridget Jones’ Diary” and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.”
“Bridget Jones’ Baby” is coming back with Renee Zellweger as Bridget Jones and Colin Firth as Mark Darcy. Patrick Dempsey is also part of the film, playing an unknown role. According to recent rumors from Metro, Dempsey will be playing the love interest of Bridget Jones.
“Grey’s Anatomy” star Dempsey was seen filming with Zellweger and that states that even without Hugh Grant, the film will still have a love triangle.
“Bridget Jones’ Baby” plot is set to revolve around ‘who’s baby is it?’ The movie will be featuring British publishing executive Bridget Jones in her 40s. The report further adds, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” novel has Darcy killed off but for the movie plot is altered.
But the official “Bridget Jones’ Baby,”page from IMDb says the plot is not based on the 2013 released novel. In fact, the film will serve as the prequel to happenings in “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” novel.
“Bridget Jones’ Baby” will be directed by Sharon Maguire, who also directed “Bridget Jones’ Diary.” Also, returning for the franchise is Sally Philips, who will reprise the role of Shazza. The script will be by Helen Fielding and serving as a producer are Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward.
BBC journalists and hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Jeremy Paxman are known to make small cameos for the film. “Bridget Jones’ Baby” shooting started in early October this year.
In her interview with People Magazine, Zellweger defines the experience of again reprising the character of Bridget Jones.
“People do stop me in the streets to ask me about Bridget Jones. They ask me about it a lot, and it makes me smile because I love the character. I just went and had a really fun day on the set, and then I went to do some more other homework.” Zellweger said.
