Renee Zellweger has gained weight again to play the role of Bridget Jones in her upcoming film of the “Bridget Jones” franchise – “Bridget Jones’ Baby.” Does she have something to say about this?
According to XPOSE.ie, the 46-year-old star is allegedly having high-calorie diet of liquid drinks and chips in order to put on weight that would be ideal for her titular heroine role in “Bridget Jones’ Baby.”
“She knows she can’t play Bridget with her naturally skinny frame,” and has already gained two stone in weight to play the role of Bridget Jones in the first two films of the franchise. She has started gaining weight once again for the third film of the “Bridget Jones” franchise.
Marie Claire reported that the third film of the franchise “Bridget Jones’ Baby” is based on Fielding’s columns that were written eight years before, and not based on her third novel “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.”
According to Wikipedia entry, Renee Zellweger was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” an adaptation of the Helen Fielding’s novel of the same name. This English romantic comedy film, directed by Sharon Maguire, was released in 2001. A sequel, “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason,” a sequel to the first film of the “Bridget Jones” franchise was released in 2004.
For the first two films of the series, Zellweger increased two stone to her tiny frame and reduced the weight rapidly afterwards, reported MailOnline. When questioned about this, the actress replied that she is afraid as specialists suggest that it is bad to put on much weight in short period. She also added that the specialists say that it might kill her if she will continue this.
