Reprises her role as the unlucky in love Bridget Jones in the third movie “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” means a lot more than just a movie for Renée Zellweger as, according to her, shooting the movie is more of a reunion with old friends.
According to People, Renée Zellweger who is currently shooting for the movie in London considers getting to shoot the third part of the movie as a wonderful opportunity to revisit one of her most iconic roles Bridget Jones. She was at the 13th Annual LA County Walk when she spoke about her movie.
Apart from reprising her role she also spoke about her wonderful co-stars Colin Firth and Sally Phillips and how shooting with them feels like having a reunion with old friends. Over the last few weeks, Renée has been seen sporting a prosthetic baby bump because in the movie her character Bridget now in her 40’s finds out that she is pregnant and thus begins her new struggle.
Colin Firth too was seen on the set looking dapper as he walked around carrying a bag and wearing a three-piece executive suit. With his looks, one can notice that neither the actor nor his character Mark Darcy has aged even a little as Colin still looks the part just the way he did in the previous two movies.
E! added that it has been fourteen years since the first movie “Bridget Jones’s Diary” released and Renée never thought she would be able to star in a third movie though she always wanted to. Her role over the time continuous to remain so popular that fans at times stop her on the streets to talk to her about her portrayal as Bridget Jones.
Unlike the first two movies, Hugh Grant will not be returning for the third one and instead Colin Firth’s Mark Darcy might just face competition from Patrick Dempsey’s character that was confirmed as the new addition to the movie. “Bridget Jones’s Baby” will release next year.
