Grace and Conrad Sewell, Brisbane siblings, have created chart history as “siblings with separate songs in the ARIA Top 3.” Read for more details.
Though Grace and Conrad have ten years of gap in age, they sit together at No. 2 and No. 3 on this week’s ARIA Top 3. The siblings release separate songs on different record labels in the ARIA singles chart.
It should be noted that they have made record as the first siblings to have chartered next to each other to release different songs in the ARIA Top 3, at the same time.
According to News.com.au, Conrad Sewell is positioned at No. 2, and his sister Grace at No.3. “It’s a total accident that the songs have just linked up in the charts at the same time,” said the 18-year-old Grace.
She said that her brother Conrad Sewell is ten years older than she is. She also added that he started singing and song writing since he was 18 years old, and that she feels happy that he has finally started to “see the fruits of his labor.”
It is reported that on the Australian charts, already three sets of siblings have shared the Top 10 at the same time. However, it is for the first time in the Australian chart history that this Brisbane sibling is seated together side by side.
The “You Don’t Own Me” singer Grace discloses that she and her brother regularly discuses about their music careers. She also revealed that they have recorded a duet together, which will appear on Conrad’s debut album later this year. She finally concluded that they are looking forward to record more together in the future.
The Brisbane siblings have gone towards their own genres in their music career even though they have grown up together inspired by the same music and records. Congratulations to both Grace and Conrad Sewell for making the Australian Chart History!
