Just days after Brittney filed for an annulment to end her marriage life with Glory Johnson, she talked about her wife’s unexpected pregnancy announcement and her domestic violence arrest in an interview with ESPN.
Griner and Johnson married last month, two weeks after the couple were arrested on suspicion of domestic assault. They were suspended by the WNBA for the first seven games of the season, after the arrest. Brittney filed for an annulment to end her short-lived union with Glory, the day after the Colorado Springs native announced her pregnancy, just three weeks after they were arrested.
During the interview with ESPN, Griner emotionally admitted that marrying Glory may not have been the best decision and it was a “Huge Mistake, ” reports E! Online.
“Prior to us getting married, I knew I didn’t want to … I shouldn’t have went through with it,” said Brittney. “You know, sometimes you feel pressured into things, and I went along with it. And I know I shouldn’t have. It was a huge mistake. I just knew it was a mistake,” she added.
When asked about the domestic violence arrest, Griner replied, “No matter what just walk away…domestic violence is never okay no matter what the situation is.”
Brittney admitted that she was surprised by Glory’s social media post, when ESPN about her opinion with regards to her wife’s pregnancy announcement.
“It was definitely a surprise. It’s very early. It’s too early to post or say anything about it and I was surprised,” said Griner.
The WNBA star, when asked about her few months of relationship with Glory, simply replied “emotional,” with tears in her eyes.
So in the past six weeks, Brittney and Glory bought a house, had a wedding, were arrested, got pregnant, and now filed annulment & separating.
