Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Season 2 Episode 17 “Boyle-Linetti Wedding” aired on Sunday, Mar. 1, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. on FOX. It’s the big day for Gina’s mom and Charles’ dad as they are finally getting married and the squad is part of the ceremony. Find out what happened in the episode in the recap below.

At the staff meeting, Gina (Chelsea Peretti) interrupts Amy’s (Melissa Fumero) briefing about the counterfeiter to remind everyone that her mom is marrying Charles’ dad in a couple of days. She checks for status update from them, coz apparently they’ve been tasks to do something for the wedding.

After the meeting, Jake (Andy Samberg) tells the Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) that he’s doubly excited to be at the wedding. It was because an old flame, Jenny Gilderhorn, is going to be there. Her mom is friends with Gina’s mom. He’s planning on slow dancing with her, as this almost happened when they were thirteen years old. As Jake talks about her, Charles signals to him that Amy is coming over. He just think it’s weird, given their history. But Jake and Amy assure Charles it’s all in the past.

Meanwhile, Charles wants to know if Rosa is going to bring Marcus to the wedding. She says she doesn’t want her beau to get the wrong idea, so she’s going alone. Gina, on the other hand, asks either Sgt. Terry (Terry Crews) or the captain to initiate the wedding. Terry volunteers, since he’s already ordained.

It’s finally the day! But first, Jake gets the ring from the jewelers with Amy, since this is the task Gina gives him. As they are about to leave the jewelry store, Amy gets a call about the counterfeiter. She asks Jake if they can check this tip before heading to wedding venue. Jake would’ve wanted to be at the wedding early so he can get a good seat next to Jenny, but Amy begs for his help. They stakeout the place and when the counterfeiter arrived, Jake and Amy follow him.

In the middle of busting the counterfeiter, Amy asks Jake his game plan for when he gets face to face with Jenny. Jake wonders, however, if Amy is really okay with this, again, given their history. But before they could talk about it further, they see the perpetrator, chase after him and make their arrest.

At the hotel, Rosa helps Charles’ dad with his cuff links. She learns that Lynn Boyle (guest star Stephen Root) has wedding jitters. Is he making another mistake? After all, this is his fifth wedding. Rosa brings Charles to his dad who tells Lynn, jitters are normal.

Downstairs, Gina wants to hear the wedding speech first, but when Terry recites it to her, he breaks down and cries. Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher) says that he’s been doing this every time. Terry just feels so touched by his own wedding speech. Gina fires him and assigns Holt to take his place. She’s also freaking out because things aren’t moving as perfectly as she expected. She asks Charles about his dad and he makes up excuses for him.

Meanwhile, Jake and Amy finally get to the hotel after their short police work and he sees Jenny. She invites him to sit with her, but first, Jake has to give the ring to Gina. But then, he realizes he may have lost it during the takedown with the counterfeiter. Together with Amy, they return to the scene and they both go over the piles of trash. Amy apologizes to him because if not for her, this wouldn’t have happened. She tells Jake not to help her look for the ring in the garbage. He has to look and smell perfect when he’s slow dancing with Jenny. Amy finds the ring and inserts it on Jake’s finger, just to be sure. But it’s too tight; he can’t take it off.

Back at the hotel, things are picking up with the preparation, much to Gina’s delight. Her mother thanks her for making this the third best day of her life. But then, Charles finally tells Gina that his father is having a breakdown in his room. Gina talks to him, convincing him of reasons why her mom loves him so much. He takes a lot of risk, and he’s not a coward. He realizes Gina is right. The wedding is back on.

Rosa hears the conversation Gina had with Lynn. She realizes that she’s a coward with her relationship with Marcus. Jake arrives with Amy, with the ring still stuck in his fingers, so the sergeant pulls this off him. Jake shouts in pain at both his fingers and seeing Jenny with another man.

It’s time. Gina’s mom marches to the wedding song. Holt begins the ceremony with his speech. In a matter of minutes, the bride and groom are officially married.

At the reception, Marcus surprisingly arrives. Rosa tells her boyfriend that she didn’t want to bring him to the wedding at first, but what the heck, she’s in love with him. Marcus takes her hand and says I love you back. They kiss.

Meanwhile, Amy assures Jake that Jenny doesn’t seem to be all that nice. It’s not his loss. If he likes, she knows someone he can slow dance with. Is it her? Amy presents Gina’s great aunt to him. Jake gamely dances with the old lady.
