Brooklyn Nine Nine” Season 2 Episode 9 “The Road Trip” aired on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at 8:30 p.m. on FOX. Jake and Amy went on a road trip for work with their respective partners, while Rosa attested that she was not sick and could still do an interrogation at the precinct. Meanwhile, Holt asked Boyle’s help with regards cooking. Read on to find out what happened in this week’s episode.

Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) were instructed by Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher) to transfer a perp who was caught in upstate New York. They were supposed to be there at an odd hour in the morning, so leaving Brooklyn that night was imperative. They would have to stay at a B & B though, and while they weren’t technically on duty until the next morning, Jake thought he would bring his girlfriend Sophia (guest star Eva Longoria) to the trip. Wouldn’t Amy do the same with Teddy?

Amy had no plans to have her boyfriend tag along. She didn’t think he would be up for this, as he only had one passion: talking about pilsner. But guess what? Jake surprised Amy by inviting Teddy (guest star Kyle Bornheimer) to join them. Amy did not like the surprise because the truth was, she was planning on breaking up with Teddy. This romantic getaway was going to be awkward for her.

Jake: What happened with you guys, I thought you were solid. Didn't you just get a joint library card?

Joining Sophia in their hotel room later, which oddly had a thousand dolls, Jake told her of the situation with Amy, and she was sweet and understanding enough to get what her boyfriend was doing for a friend. They had a double date over dinner that night, but Sophia assured Amy that they would back her up when things got pretty weird.

As Amy felt no more sparks for her boyfriend, each time Teddy spoke, she would cringe, until she could no longer take it. She dropped the bombed right there on the dining table. She was breaking up with Teddy, and he kind of knew the reason why, putting the blame on Jake, who, unknown to Sophia, liked Amy before her.

Teddy: You told her that you liked her before you went undercover.
Sophia: You liked Amy?
Jake: Uhm…I did, but that was many moons ago.
Teddy: Was it? Coz I know for a fact that you also told her you liked her when you got back. And every time you would, she would get confused and our relationship would be out of sync and if you ask me it's because she likes you back.

Needless to say, the dinner ended abruptly, and Jake had to go up to his room to explain to his girlfriend, assuring her that he was no longer into Amy.

Sophia: It’s not what I heard Jake, it’s what I saw. You should have seen the look on your face when you found out Amy liked you.

However, the two made-up like mature adults. It’s not very hard to appreciate Sophia, right?

Meanwhile, Amy and Teddy did break-up, and later, with Sophia on her own and Jake and Amy were officially on duty as they brought the perp back to the precinct, Jake made sure that Amy never forgot that she liked him at one point. He was rubbing it in during the whole trip. Right now, these two are really better off as friends, but who knows what will happen down the line.

In another storyline, Capt. Holt sought Boyle’s (Joe Lo Truglio) help when it came to preparing a romantic breakfast for his partner, Kevin. It was their anniversary, and the captain would like to surprise his husband. Boyle was very particular about the process of cooking, while the captain was a hot mess. But he was a natural cook, and even as he has not perfected the procedure demonstrated by Boyle, he was able to prepare a really good-tasting sandwich. Boyle loved it and couldn’t believe the captain’s skills.

Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), on the other hand, was in denial about being sick. She wanted to be at the interrogation for the Giggle Pig case and Sgt. Terry (Terry Crews) had to ask Gina’s (Chelsea Perretti) help to make sure Rosa got her rest. Gina locked her in the storage closet where Rosa was actually able to sleep for ten hours. When she woke up, she smashed the door’s window, but she was stumped when Gina gave her a care package. Rosa actually smiled at the thought.
