He is well known for the honor that he brought to the US when he won an Olympic award and for his role in a hit reality TV series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
News about Bruce Jenner transitioning into a woman has been on overdrive until Dianne Sawyer’s “20/20” interview happened wherein the speculations have been finally put to rest. A lot of fans were shocked when rumors broke and in the interview, has Bruce finally confirmed his transition?
First off, the interview was very emotional and we finally got the answers to the burning question: Is he a he or a she?
During the first five minutes of the interview, the 65-year-old Olympian said it, “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman. People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life – it is part of me. That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.”
It was a two-hour special and in the middle of it, Sawyer asked if he now regrets that he’s part of the E!’s reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” His reply, “I had the story. We’ve done 425 episodes, I think, over almost eight years now and the entire run, I kept thinking to myself, ‘Oh my God, this whole thing… the one real, true story in the family was the one I was hiding and nobody knew about it. The one thing that could make a real difference in people’s lives was in my soul, and I could not tell my story.”
He also revealed the time when he wore a dress when he was eight years old and since then he started cross-dressing. Over the years, his ex wives and only his sister knew about his real gender preference but kept mum about it and just recently, he let his 10 children know about it. Jenner also has undergone cosmetic facial surgeries over the years and even took the female hormone estrogen during the 1980s. Just last year up to date, he is taking hormones again.
Jenner also made it clear that this is the last interview that people will see from “Bruce” because his next interview would be the person he wants to become, a woman.
His recent ex-wife, Kris Jenner, has declined to comment about this but Jenner revealed in his interview that Kris knew about some aspects of his struggle.
Following the interview, E! would feature a docuseries, which will take fans into Jenner’s transition, which will air on July 26, 2015.
