Bruce Jenner has threatened to sue CNN and Daily News after images of him wearing a dress outside his mansion were illegally captured and shown. Read on.
A representative from Jenner’s side told US Weekly that it has prompted a serious debate after photos were published by multiple media platforms.
In the photos, we can see the 65-year-old Olympic champion wearing a black and white striped dress. Jenner was holding a cigarette at that time the pictures were taken. It appeared that the photos were shot using long-shot lenses which resulted to low quality images. In turn, these photos made headlines and on the front page of the New York Daily News. Meanwhile, CNN titled a segment, “Caught on Camera: Bruce Jenner’s New Look?”
Days later, both media outlets decided to take the images of Jenner wearing a dress from their websites.
On the other hand, the representative said that the images were pulled out from the media platforms. It was after learning these were illegally obtained. The spokesperson also added that the media outlets bought the illegally obtained images from X17. The images that were taken without permission was in violation of California’s law regarding invasion of privacy of people engaged in personal or familial undertakings.
Marty Singer, who is Jenner’s lawyer, said the photos were a violation since these were taken from a very long distance. The lawyer added that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” patriarch will enforce his right to privacy.
Jenner threatened the media outlets to file legal action four days after he publicly admitted his gender transition. During the interview with Diane Sawyer, Jenner admitted that he is a woman and talked about his plans to move forward from being born male to becoming a female.
Although Jenner did not wear a dress during the 2-hour interview, he showed a black dress kept in his closet which he later wore with Diane Sawyer over dinner.
