He may be one of the shyest members of 5 Seconds of Summer, but Calum Hood is indeed the band’s secret weapon according to Fuse. Does he have the guts to be 5SOS leader or there’s someone else who can own the center stage?
Based on the report of the site, each member of the band shows individual unique aspects when it comes to making the group’s song one of a kind. By doing so, they were not just recognize as a four-member band as a whole but an individual who can showcase full talent especially in songwriting.
We already something about Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford from multiple sites. They were always part of the headlines, so why don’t we talk about the shyest member this time—Calum Hood.

The site noted that if there are two people who naturally shy away from the limelight, it’s gonna be Hemmings and Hood. Yet, between the two of them, the 19-year-old band bassist get unnoticed even more often, since the band even the fans consider Hemmings as the “de facto front man” of the band.
However, if you looked at the brighter side, in the band’s sophomore album “Sounds Good Feels Good,” Hood’s bass “is more harnessed than ever.”
According to Fuse, Hood took more control to the band’s sound. The young musician’s bass did the tricks to the group’s sound! “Calum subtly becomes the group’s secret weapon.” Even the band’s longtime producer and BFF John Feldmann noted how Hood owned the song “Invisible.”
Feldmann explained that he remembered Hood saying the phrase, “This is my song” even if Clifford tried to step in but Hood “slayed the chorus!”
On the other hand, KPop Starz pointed out that it doesn’t mean Hood is a perfect person since he most likely became the band’s “secret weapon.”
Unreality TV revealed that 5 Seconds of Summer Hood admitted that he once tried to smoke weeds before but it won’t happen again “due to some dodgy side effect.”
