“Dance Moms” recently aired a reunion special titled, “City of Angels,” wherein the Abby Lee Dance Company leader seemingly hinted that it was her last appearance on the Lifetime reality series. Now that the show is up for Season 6, will it still have the same impact on audience and fans without Abby Lee Miller and Maddie Ziegler? Read on to learn more about this scoop.
“Dance Moms” has officially been renewed for another season on Lifetime and while casting calls are already being promoted in various social media sites, the return of Abby Lee Miller and one of its lead stars, Maddie Ziegler remain uncertain. As previously reported by Movie News Guide, the 12-year-old star expressed doubts about her return for the upcoming season.
Ziegler immediately became famous following her appearance for Sia’s music videos for “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” and has even nabbed a role in the ABC Family series, “Pretty Little Liars.” Ziegler seemingly hinted that she wanted to try expanding her career more than just doing reality shows and competition.
Miller, on the other hand, has had a lot of issues with the network and its producers in “Dance Moms” season 5 and the ALDC coach even went as far as announcing that she will not be back for season 6 if Lifetime fails to pay her right. Bustle reported that Miller has also hinted during the reunion special that this will be her last appearance in the show.
“You go out when you’re on top,” Miller said.
While Miller can be pretty notorious on the show, several fans are now wondering if the show can survive without Maddie Ziegler and Abby Lee Miller. The outlet pointed that even though a lot of people criticize Miller’s ways of teaching the girls, “Abby is part of the allure of ‘Dance Moms’ – like it or not.”
