Bindi Irwin had been wowing the “Dancing with the Stars” judges weeks after week, even getting the most perfect 10s of season 21. But though she’s a front-runner to winning the finals, some say that Backstreet Boy Nick Carter still has a fighting chance of running away with the Mirror Ball Trophy.
It’s going to be a tough finale night for “Dancing with the Stars” season 21. But Bindi Irwin sure is getting a lot of favours from viewers, with the wildlife conservationist getting another perfect score this week. Even dark horse Alek Skarlatos has shown much improvement throughout the season, even besting former Big Time Rush singer Carlos Pena Vega. So what chances do Backstreet Boy Nick Carter have of still winning the finals?
A lot. At least that what Inquisitr noted. Says the online source, the 35-year old has the same personality and performance factor as winners of the previous seasons. If there’s anything the show loves, it’s a celebrity dancer who has opened up the most both on the dance floor and outside it, especially on the video bits shown before every performance.
And open up, Carter has surely done. Aside from admitting to the “”DWTS” dances being way different from those he’s done with the Backstreet Boys, he also shared a lot about the journey that lead him to where he is now. He once talked about his troubled childhood, his descent to drug addiction, and how this addiction has led his family to blame him for his younger sister Leslie’s death.
“I have been comfortable and happy to tell my story because I hope it can make a difference in somebody else’s life and inspire them to realise that they are not alone. They can overcome any trouble in their life. It’s been cathartic for me,” he tells PEOPLE about the experience of sharing his life story on “DWTS.”
There’s also no denying that the Backstreet Boys fandom is still as strong as it was in the 1990s. And maybe even stronger as the group is still gaining younger fans, even now. With that, there’s a high chance for them to vote and spawn the boy band member to the top of “DWTS.”
But it’s not just Carter that deserves that Mirror Ball trophy; his partner Sharna Burgess does to. She almost won the finals with Noah Galloway last season and now, she’s in the finals once again.
See if Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess manage to win the Mirror Ball Trophy when “Dancing with the Stars” airs its two-part season 21 finale on ABC this November 23 and 24.
