Everything seems to be falling slowly into place for former Denver Nuggets playmaker Ty Lawson as he was presented by his new team the Houston Rockets during Media Day. Read on.

The troubled McDonald’s All-American was in high hopes in his first press conference on the Texas state. He was eye-catching as he wore the familiar white and red uniform of the Rockets according to a report from The Dream Shake.

“[I can bring] a lot of energy. Coach likes the pace to be pushed, I can do that, just another playmaker, James doesn’t have to make every play down the stretch. Anything they want me to do,” Lawson pointed out.

The 5-11 point guard, who pointed out that “everybody likes a fresh start,” also revealed that he is ecstatic to start practicing with Rockets’ guard Patrick Beverley each day in particular with how to amplify the defense.

The North Carolina standout has had major scuffles with the law and has been arrested five times, one involved domestic public disturbance and four driving under the influence (DUI). Before he was shipped to Houston, Lawson had a court date appointment last July for an earlier DUI in Denver. He managed to incur another violation in Los Angeles just days prior to schedule. Luckily, the Denver District Attorney didn’t slapped him with some serious jail time and had a bail set on $5,000 as cited by  Yahoo! Sports.

These constant breaches and the Nuggets acquisition of Emmanuel Mudiay with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft plunged Lawson down the future list in Denver.

In a previous report from ESPN, the Rockets are banking their trade Pablo Prigioni, Nick Johnson, Joey Dorsey, and Kostas Papanikolaou and a first-round draft pick in the 2016 NBA Draft for Lawson to be a contributing factor in the Rockets quest to erase the debacle of last year’s Western Conference Finals.

Lawson, who has been with the Nuggets since his 2009 draft, lead his team in scoring at 16.7 points per game and assists at 9.9 per contest this season.
