If you think you’ll know what will happen to Avengers 4, you’re probably wrong. According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, your assumptions — as logical as they may be — are probably wrong. Warning! Avengers Spoilers ahead.
Avengers 3: Infinity War’s ending left everyone shocked and confused. With half of the world’s population being erased from the face of the earth — no thanks to Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet — half of the superhero group’s roster also faded into dust. From Spider Man to Black Panther to Doctor Strange to Nick Fury.
Notably though, the heroes that disintegrated have sequel films in the pipeline. This leads fans to think that while they may have vanished, they’ll be returning in the next installment one way or another. The Avengers 4 plot consensus is that the heroes will return in time to stop Thanos and keep Peter Parker, T’Challa, and the rest alive.
Feige was quick to burst everyone’s hopes though. According to the Marvel Studios head, just because there are part two’s scheduled doesn’t mean the Avengers will reunite and the dead will rise.
“We’re holding off on specifics on all of it for all the same reasons we hold off on everything. For the most part, it’s keep the surprises going. The one thing I’ll say is… the mere fact that those films exist, people shouldn’t take any indication that they can now guess what will happen. Let’s put it that way,” Feige told CinemaBlend.
Aside from time travel, an alternate dimension may also be possible. Taking cues from the recently announced Spider Man: Far From Home title, it is a possibility. But yet again, Feige kept mum about the meaning of the title. However, he did hint that there are multiple meanings to the title.
“[It’s] similar [to Spider-Man: Homecoming]. I won’t say what the meanings are, but we enjoy that title because, like Homecoming, it is full of alternate meaning. And we liked continuing the ‘Home’ thing, with the little Spidey symbol in the ‘Home,’” the Marvel head honcho explained.
Avengers 4 is expected to hit theaters by 2019, with Spider Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5, 2019. Until then, Marvel fans will just have to wait to see what will happen to the crew.
