The spark of the competition between DC Comics and Marvel will be taken into the big screen with Marvel Studios not moving the release date of “Captain America 3” which lands on the same dateline as the premiere of DC Comic’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Read further to learn more about this scoop.
The recent announcement made by Warner Bros. Studios regarding the theatrical release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” seemed to have ignited the long shot but silently ongoing competition between DC Comics and Marvel Studios. The release date for the said superhero movie will also be in the same day as the premiere of “Captain America 3,” and it’s highly unlikely that Marvel Studios will be backing off from this big screen collision. According to Christian Today Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that the studio will not be making any further efforts to alter the release date of their upcoming superhero film.
“So I continue to be all for quality entertainment for moviegoers to enjoy on weekends. If it is on the same weekend I enjoy it slightly less. But we are doing what we’ve always done, which is sticking to our plan and sticking to our vision for the movies going forward and we have a very large vision that we’re working on for Cap 3 and for all the three movies and just because another movie plops down onto one of ours doesn’t mean we are going to alter that. Maybe we should, but we’re not going to,” delivered the president, as published on Cinemablend, when asked about his opinion about not backing down.
With the collision showing off to be imminent at this point, Warner Bros. Studios explained that their reason for pushing back the release was for quality assurance purposes. The 10-month window should give them the avenue to make sure everything is in place. They also wish to verify that their vision for the film is intact, considering the fact that the visual effects are not the only complex element of the film but the storyline as well. Come to think of it, it can be a bit of a challenge when you put two prominent Hollywood stars Ben Affleck (Batman) and Henry Cavill (Superman) together.
Nonetheless, there is still so much time to think about the final release date. Time is of the essence, and only time can tell if these two blockbuster movies will really be getting a superhero standoff in the cinemas on May 2, 2016. “Captain America 2: Winter Soldier” and “Man of Steel” both did well in the box office charts, so it’s quite difficult to tell at this point. But if it were to really happen, which movie will you be watching first?
