Let’s be honest, “Captain America: Civil War” will be changing quite a few things in order to separate it from the source material “Civil War” comics. Some of these changes may come across as good while some may seem like not that good. Despite all of it, here are some characters that will have changed from their previous portrayals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
According to What Culture, Tony Stark aka Iron Man is the first character in “Captain America: Civil War” that we will see in a different avatar when compared to earlier versions. Normally, a good-natured hero who wants to make this world a safe place to live in, many see Iron Man as an antagonistic character in the Civil War story.
Tony Stark already gave everyone a demo about how paranoid he can get when it comes to safety because he ended up creating a megalomaniac robot that ended up going on a rampage even though Tony’s intentions were good. Imagine if he seriously gets down to building something with the intent of stopping the Anti-Registration side, what kind of damage he could do.
The second on the list is Steve Rogers aka Captain America. He has been known to be this idealistic character who will do anything when it comes to his duty, after all he’s a soldier. In this movie, he will have to prove just how inclined he is towards his duty even if that means going against his own friends and other “Avengers.”
Bucky Barnes is the third one on the list. He has been Steve’s best friend since the World War II days and will probably see the biggest transformation in the movie. After the end credit scene in “Ant-Man,” Bucky seemed to remember everything about his past. He was also seen prominently standing alongside Steve in the promo art. So he will be sure to pack in a few punches for Captain, which will make it even more interesting.
Black Widow is the fourth character whose allegiance with Team Iron Man seemed a bit surprising given the fact that she has fought alongside Captain so many times. But perhaps she considers security over privacy as the need of the hour and that’s the reason why she would want everyone to register and work with the government.
The final character on the list is Scarlet Witch aka Wanda. She and her deceased brother Pietro held this grudge against Tony because they believed it was his weapons that led to their family’s death. But since her allegiance has not been revealed and Elizabeth Olsen has called her character a wild card, it would be interesting to see who she sides with.
MTV added that given the fact that Marvel announced a probable Phase 4 of the MCU, it remains to be seen what movies they release it. “Captain America: Civil War” is going to be one epic battle when two different ideologies clash, it remains to be seen who will emerge as the ultimate victor when it releases on May 6, 2016.
