Carey Mulligan has much to celebrate! She and her husband Marcus Mumford have just been blessed with a child. News reports say that Carey and the child are doing fine.
Thespian Carey Mulligan has been very quiet about her pregnancy. She did tell the press about it indirectly by making many public appearances with a visible baby bump. She even walked the red carpet with the baby bump. Her husband, Marcus Mumford kept the news under wraps too, never mentioning it once.
The only reason the public now hears about it is because the lady has chosen to go back to work and is visibly not pregnant any more. That is so typical of Carey, to maintain her dignity in a modest unassuming manner while appearing to be so stylish without even trying.
Mulligan started her career with small time roles like Kitty Bennett in Joe Wright’s 2005 attempt at making Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” which by far stands out as the best adaptation of the classic so far. We know that Keira Knightly stole the show in the picture, but Mulligan, who was then only twenty and looking a lot younger, made her presence felt too.
Mulligan kept picking roles that were sterling in every respect after that. Who could forget the beautiful “An Education” with Peter Sarsgaard which won tons of awards, including a BAFTA? And she wasn’t too bad in “Drive” either. We don’t recommend “The Great Gatsby” to anyone, after all, Robert Redford’s old classic beats the new one on every front, but Mulligan played her part with sincerity and there’s something to be said about that.
We hope that Carey Mulligan’s latest movie “Suffragette” is just as exciting as her other picks. It comes out this weekend in the United Kingdom and is slated to be released in a couple of weeks in the United States.
Sydney Morning Herald reported the news first.
