Just recently, fans of ABC’s “Castle” finally got to learn as to what exactly will happen to Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), when the show returns for an eighth season this coming fall. However, with this news, and with the knowledge that Kate’s husband, Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), will be paired up with newcomer Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye), fans, despite Fillion’s reassurances, are still worried whether all of these changes will cause the main pair to drift apart. However, much to everyone’s relief, it has just been announced that all of those fears have been unfounded. After many months of speculation, according to an earlier report on this website, it was revealed that Kate (Stana Katic) will finally become a captain. She will be the captain of the twelfth precinct when the show returns this fall. Meanwhile, Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), Kate’s novelist husband turned private investigator, will be partnered up with newcomer Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye), a former Soctland Yard officer turned security specialist.
Because of this, fans of the show, and of the main couple, Kate and Castle, who have been dubbed as “Caskett” within the show, continue to express their doubts and fears that the Kate and Castle would end up breaking up.
However, according to an exclusive report on Entertainment Weekly, the new showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Howard, reassured fans that Hayley will not be posing a threat at all to Castle’s marriage with Kate. There will be several conflicts that will happen during the season, in order to add a little bit of drama. However, they reassured the fans that they will be happy with the little sweet and romantic moments that Kate and Castle will be sharing early in the eighth season.
Hawley and Winter went on to tell Entertainment Weekly that Hayley and Kate will definitely clash. Hayley is just as strong and as independent as Kate, and has a completely different way in tackling the cases that she will be given.
