Another comedy is heading its way to CBS as it has just put a script commitment to Aaron Kaplan’s and Michelle Morgan’s new comedy television series entitled “The Brain.” Read on to learn more about the story.
According to Deadline, this news comes on the heels of various projects currently being picked up. Most of the projects that are picked up are either given pilot commitments by networks or script commitments that would be further developed into a full on television series. Some of the most recent pickups include the CBS medical drama “Code Black,” and the Greg Garcia and Eric Falconer “The Barrio.”
“The Brain” tells the story of a not so smart guy who suffered from a head trauma that made him an overnight genius. However, not everyone appreciates his newfound smarts, as the people around him liked his not-so-genius self. This causes tension between him and his family as he gets used to living life as a genius.
Aaron Kapal will produce the series alongside his production company, Kapital Entertainment while Michelle Morgan will write and executive produce the series.
Kaplan, a producer, is best known for such works such as the short lived science fiction television show “Terra Nova” (2011), “GCB (Good Christian Belles)” (2012), “The Inbetweeners” (2012), “Chasing Life” (2014), “The Neighbors” (2012 to 2014), and will be the executive producer for the upcoming television series “The Mysteries of Laura”, which will star Debra Messing. Kaplan also has his own production company, entitled Kapital Entertainment.
Morgan works in the industry as an actress, writer and producer. She acted in the television series “Heartland” (2014). She also wrote the film “Girl Most Likely” starring Kirsten Wiig and Annette Benning in 2012. Morgan is currently working on a film that she wrote and directed.
