“Madam Secretary” doesn’t just have two, but three children. The new and upcoming CBS political drama, “Madam Secretary,” starring Tea Leoni, as the titular Madam Secretary, has just added a new member to their cast — newcomer and Julliard fresh graduate, Wallis Currie-Wood. She will be playing Stephanie ‘Stevie’ McCord, the eldest in the McCord family. She will be making her debut in the second episode of the series and will be a recurring character, even if the character was not mentioned in the released previews of the series. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Madam Secretary” is a political drama that follows former professor and former CIA analyst, Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni), who reluctantly becomes the Secretary of State of the United States of America.   Strong willed, stubborn and maverick, the new Secretary of State now has to balance both the affairs of the State and the affairs of her own household.

Stephanie ‘Stevie’ McCord, the Secretary’s eldest daughter, is an unyielding and rebellious college student.  She drops out of college and moves back home for a while after getting upset with her college’s new procedures. Due to their similar personalities, it can be expected that the mother and daughter will often clash with each other in certain situations. However, this doesn’t diminish the love and respect that they have for each other.

The new Secretary definitely has her plate full, as we see her struggle to balance negotiating diplomatic situations, political and diplomatic dinners, solving national crises, while continuing to be a loving mother to her three children and a good wife to her husband.

Wallis Currie-Wood is very excited about her upcoming new role in “Madam Secretary” as seen in her tweet on July 14, 2014, in which she announced the good news by also tweeting a link to an article on TV Line,  announcing the casting news.

The fresh graduate is one busy bee, as she is also currently filming a role in Nancy Meyers’ new comedy film, “The Intern,” starring famous Hollywood actors Anne Hathaway and Robert de Niro.

“Madam Secretary” will premiere on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. For more news and updates about “Madam Secretary,” including episode recaps and spoilers, check Movie News Guide (MNG) regularly.
