Charlie Hunnam’s ‘Crimson Peak’ And Gothic Sex Scenes To Tell Tale of Gothic Romance; Tom Hiddleston Stresses Male Nudity

“Crimson Peak,” which stars A-listers in likes of Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowa, will hit theaters on October 16, 2015. The gothic flick is releasing around Halloween but its initial screening has already happened in Fantastic Fest.

Guillermo del Toro who was one of the attendees of the festival revealed a bit about the screening. It is considered as secret screening, so not much could be revealed. Guillermo del Toro said, “Despite what the marketing suggested, “Crimson Peak” was not a horror film. It’s not ‘Insidious’. The director stressed that it’s a ‘Gothic Romance’ with horror elements, and he couldn’t be more on the money,” reported io9.

“Crimson Peak” has, without any doubt, a lot of sex scenes. Although, we may see less of Charlie Hunnam that does not negate the chances of “SOA” actor Hunnam baring it all onscreen for “Crimson Peak.”

Tom Hiddleston who is playing lead in the movie also stressed towards male nudity in movies. He called it unfair for movies to only have women/ actresses shedding their clothes.

Hiddleston made his point explaining to E! Online, “I didn’t have a problem with the nakedness because I felt that there’s always been a strain of sexuality in Gothic romance as much as there has been the fear of death and the threat of violence. It’s a very violent film and I felt like we needed to balance that. So if we’re going to bring up the violence we needed to bring up the sense of sexuality.”

“Crimson Peak” has lots of violence and sex scenes which is to balance out the aura of the gothic romance. In his interview with NBC News, Guillermo del Toro opened up about “Crimson Peak” informing fans that the opening scenes of the movie are his mother’s personal experiences and the way he sees horror is very ‘Latin.’
