Behind the limelight of a Hollywood actor’s life like that of Charlie Sheen are the controversies spurring from speculations which tend to either be dismissed as malicious talks or confirmed soon as the truth. Allegedly, he is diagnosed as being HIV-positive. Also, he is scheduled to appear on the Today show to break his silence about the issue.
It’s almost few weeks now when a blind item came out about a Hollywood A-lister who have been shocking his previous intimate partners with the speculations that he has AIDS. Others claim it was Charlie Sheen. According to People. this news is something Howard Bragman has heard of before. He is a known Hollywood publicist familiar with handling crisis issues.
He said that several things can happen to the actor after the said interview. He explained, “The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners. You don’t take that lightly. It’s been going on for quite awhile. He’s not necessarily comfortable talking about it. It was very hard to get up the courage for him to talk about it.”
The publicist also added, “I’ve known about this a long time, it’s not a surprise to me, I feel very sorry for his pain. And I hope it’s used as a teachable moment for the world. This is a disease that can affect anyone.” It was alleged that Sheen became infected when he started becoming dependent on substance abuse and opted to see prostitutes before.
With this speculation going on, how did his former wife, Denise Richards reacted to the issue? In a report from Access Hollywood, a source revealed that Richards is aware of this but the ex-couple have not been intimately close after their divorce. The source claimed that Sheen became HIV-positive in the years following their divorce. Hence, there is nothing to worry about for Richards and their children.
