“Mad Max” actors, Nicholas Hoult and Charlize Theron still have a little fury to work out between them. Sources suggest that the two did not get along at all during the filming for their new film “Dark Places.” Read on to find out more.
Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, who collaborated first in 2014’s smash-hit “Mad Max: Fury Road,” did not exactly become the best of friends on set. Hoult apparently had problems with Theron’s “A-list diva attitude.” Their relationship has degenerated even further while filming their new film, the thriller, “Dark Places,” which Hoult reportedly almost did not join after learning of Theron’s involvement.
“Nicholas hasn’t liked Charlize since they filmed Mad Max in 2012. Nick has apparently been rubbed the wrong way by Charlize’s A-List attitude,” an insider told OK! Magazine this week.
The source went on and described Theron’s “diva-like attitude” as someone who “walked around like she owned the place.” The insider added that the 40-year-old actress would even “snap” in between takes before heading inside her trailer.
To be fair, Theron has just had a messy break-up with long term boyfriend and fiance Sean Penn. And post-breakup, she also adopted a little girl. So it seems like Theron’s personal life is kind of intense right now.
“Dark Places” has Theron star as ‘Libby Day,’ a woman who must revisit a horrific massacre in her childhood and relive painful memories to discover the truth. The second adaptation of a Gillian Flynn novel (after the record breaking success of “Gone Girl”) also stars Christina Hendricks and Chloe Grace-Moretz.
The movie saw limited release in the US on Aug. 7, and has been critically panned and called “dead on arrival,” with only a 28 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes‘ Tomatometer.
