“Power Rangers” the combined venture of Saban and Lionsgate announced the movie way back in 2014. The movie is reportedly said to be a reboot of the sci-fi franchise. The management announced details about cast and project recently which not necessarily is a restructured version of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”- its characters and the mythology. According to Screenrant, “Power Rangers” is scheduled to come out by 2017 and is being developed by franchise co-creator Haim Saban modifying the previous draft done by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, the writers of “Thor” and “X-Men.” The film is in charge of director Dean Israelite.
The casting of “Power Rangers” has also been announced as per their respective colors that includes Dacre Montgomery (The Red Ranger), Naomi Scott (The Pink Ranger), RJ Cyler (The Blue Ranger), Ludi Lin (The Black Ranger) and Teyana Jones (The Yellow Ranger). The informed details are not confirmed for time being but are speculated as per the sources. The casting looks way different from the original “Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.”
It is allegedly said that the opening of the flick might have inspiration from the “Mighty Morphin” in terms of costumes or any particular segment which are picked up from the original for the alleged sequel.
The estimated budget for the movie is $35 million, which seems comparatively low, as the average cost of movie these days is around the given figure.
The principal photography of the film will start earlier next year at Vancouver, so an official brief of the movie is expected to come before that with the accurate details of cast and synopsis of the plot. “Power Rangers” is scheduled to release in 2017.
