After the first trailer for Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Paramount Pictures has released a new international trailer to get the fans amped for the January release of spin-off. It has introduced about 40 seconds of additional footage to the first trailer which released on 23rd of October. Scroll down to watch this new trailer.
Judging from the trailers, The Marked Ones focuses more on Latin-Catholic side of the supernatural terror and it’s the main thing to set it apart from the previous films, leaving the viewers to wonder how exactly it’s going to fit into the already established continuity. However, I’m super excited about it as it’s the only first entry into this series that will actually take the action outside a huge home. And then there’s a lot more to it, that involves young girls with no eyes, black magic and the new GoPro, an extremely small portable camera, to tell the tale instead of a camcorder.
The storyline of this Latino spinoff follows Jesse (Andrew Jacobs) and some of his friends who go to the apartment of a woman who had mysteriously died after some strange things happen to her. Once there, they find some crazy ritualistic stuff and video tapes. And then t takes turn and they get powers, in fact get the powers of the devil or some evil spirit. Actually they are Marked! Not sure, but they may be turning into devils. There is also a female character who reflects the backstory to the saga of Katie and her family. Interesting … isn’t it?
Written and directed by Christopher Landon (writer of all the Paranormal Activity sequels), this spin-off of the “Paranormal Activity” series stars Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens and Frank Salina. The film is set to release on January 3, 2014.
