“Jupiter Ascending” will be invading theaters next month, so before Warner Bros. release their sci-fi epic, check out the new shorts as well as concept art for the film. Check the clips below and the concept arts here, here and here.
“Jupiter Ascending” follows the story of Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a down-on-her-luck janitor and Caine Wise (Channing Tatum), an interplanetary warrior, who informs Jones that her destiny extends beyond Earth.
In “Jupiter Ascending,” unknown to Earth’s residents, life on Earth and countless other planets has been seeded by families of alien royalty for the purpose of harvesting the evolved living creatures once they reach a “Darwinian state of perfection” to produce a type of youth serum that allows them to live forever. So when the matriarch of the House of Abrasax, the most powerful of the alien dynasties, dies, her children begin war over the inheritance, but unsuspectingly, Jupiter Jones, a janitor from Earth, forwards as another heir to the throne. Jupiter encounters Caine Wise, a genetically engineered warrior, who has come to Earth to reveal to Jupiter that her genetic signature makes her a royalty and heir to Earth. It is up to Jupiter and Caine to claim Earth and save it from Balem, who would rather harvest Earth than lose it to Jupiter.
“Jupiter Ascending” is directed, written and produced by the Wachowskis. It marks their first return to original screenplays in the science fiction genre since “The Matrix” trilogy. The pic is co-produced by Grant Hill, who acted as executive producer on “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions,” marking this as his seventh collaboration with the Wachowskis. “Jupiter Ascending” stars Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Sean Bean, Tuppence Middleton, David Ajala and Charlotte Beaumont. “Jupiter Ascending” will land in theaters on Feb. 6, 2015.
