Cheryl Fernandez-Versini recently revealed that she tries to fight less with her “The X Factor UK” co-star Simon Cowell. Read on for more details.
32-year-old English singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini recently talked about her relationship with Simon Cowell. The “Crazy Stupid Love” singer said that it took a lot of work to repair her relationship with the 55-year-old music mogul after the latter axed her from “The X Factor US” back in 2011. She fell out with Cowell when he rudely sacked her from the said show and she confessed that it was not easy for her to get over it.
“I never thought his decision was wrong; I just thought how he handled it was wrong. There’s ways to do it, you know what I mean? You’ve got to face up to these things. We didn’t speak for months and a lot of work had to be done – but I think it stems from Simon being a really soft-hearted person deep down. As ballsy as his decisions are, he finds it hard to say it to your face sometimes. But he knows he was in the wrong now,” Fernandez-Versini explained.
In her interview with The Daily Mirror, she also talked about her friendship with Cowell. “Me and Simon are still rowing, but it’s playful. He knows which buttons to press. We’d had a bit of a spat. But with everything that’s gone on with Simon and his mum I thought, ‘It’s not worth it’.”
Fernandez-Versini, who was also dealing with the end of her marriage to professional footballer Ashley Cole at the time and later suffered from life-threatening malaria, said that she would not change any of her past experiences because they have made her a much stronger person.
In her recent interview with InStyle magazine, she said that she has become stronger. “I’ve become stronger for sure. I think that when you’ve had a lot of slaps in the face, you get tougher. It makes you think, ‘Bring it on. What more can you do that I’m not prepared for?’”
