This coming January will see all of the “Chicago” franchise shows crossover with each other in overlapping storylines, with the events happening in Chicago Med at its center. The upcoming franchise crossover will also have several interesting character driven storylines, and will highlight characters such as Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), whose own emotional journey will be one of interest for long-time fans. WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for the upcoming episodes of “Chicago Med” and “Chicago PD”.

It is already known that the crossover between “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” will primarily happen due to the fact that Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) will be rushed to the hospital after being stabbed by their newest hire.

However, according to the exclusive sneak peeks that were recently released on Spoiler TV, it seems that many disagree with how Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) handled the situation.

Things though, get a little bit more interesting after the firefighters of Firehouse 51 rescues Jessica Pope, whose house burned down, and who had been found with a bag over her head, in what they believe was an attempted suicide.

However, despite the presence of a note, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), in the sneak peek,  discovered and later informed Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) that Jessica was dying thanks to an overdose of chemotherapy. What was even more disturbing was the fact that Jessica’s test result later showed that she didn’t even have cancer.

In another  clip, a woman is rolled in, exhibiting the same signs as Jessica Pope, and three other women who all had the same symptoms.

Dr. Natalie “Nat” Manning (Torrey DeVitto) then informed the Intelligence Unit, who decided to use one of the hospital’s conference rooms for the moment, that another woman had been admitted with the same symptoms as the other three women, and gave them the woman’s bag in order to help them gather more clues.

Thankfully, the woman’s phone told them that she was in contact with the three other victims, and they were able to track down the name of her doctor thanks to her insurance card- Dr. Dean Reybold (Jeremy Shamos).

This then shocked both Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), as Reybold had been Voight’s late wife’s doctor.

In the other clips, it was shown that Voight went to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) for some advice about Reybold, especially as the four women had continued treatment under him, even after confronting him. Charles then agreed to talk to Reybold, as he labeled Reybold as a psychopath.

With regards to the first ever “Chicago” franchise crossover, executive producer Matt Olstead told Entertainment Weekly that he hopes that viewers and fans will be able to see another side to the rought and tumble Voight, especially as this case will hit close to home for him.

Also, fans and viewers will learn a little bit more about Voight’s past.
